Keep them coming

Chances are you want people to keep coming to your site, whether they are repeat visitors, or new visitors. A way to do this is to change your content regularly. This isn't as important for business sites, which will usually (hopefully) always have new customers browsing their site. But other types of sites, like personal sites, especially need to change their content frequently. If not, once someone reads the entire site, there isn't much reason to return. Personal sites rarely have a high rate of new visitors, so you have to concentrate on repeat visitors.

Here are a couple ways you can regularly have new content:

• News page
  Keep your visitors up to date with what's going on with a news page. Even post news you find interesting that you've found elsewhere on the internet.
• Be random
  Make a few logos and randomly pick one for each visitor, show a randomly selected quote of the day, or randomize something else. Make each visit more exciting, or at least different, than the last.

Make it readable

Space out your content. When your visitors see a huge paragraph they are more likely not to bother reading it, or read only part of it. Break it up so it looks easier to read. Use section headings, bullet points and pictures. Put an empty line between paragraphs; using paragraph tags will do this for you.

Keep each page focused. Don't be afraid to make a new page to cover a different topic.
